Two New Releases - Severed Hearts And To Trust Her Heart by Laurean Brooks @prairierosepubs #InspirationalRomance

Severed Hearts

Julie Blanton's dream is realized when shy Johnny Michaels all but professes his undying love. But, when he enlists two days later without so much as a goodbye, her world crashes.

Johnny has loved Julie since high school Civics class. But before he can muster the courage to ask for a real date, he overhears words that cut to the core. Humiliation drives him to make a rash decision. Will it cost him Julie's love?

To Trust Her Heart

The scandal surrounding her husband's death and the debt he leaves behind forces Amanda Wilkes to seek employment. The experience strengthens her resolve to remain single. Then one touch from Jake Tyler, her new boss, leaves Amanda weak in the knees. Dare she trust her heart again?

Jake Tyler plans to remain unmarried and raise his seven-year-old-son after his wife's death. But his resolve teeters at one flash of Amanda's eyes. What lies behind his secretary's cool facade and why does she weep over sad love songs? Can Jake handle what he uncovers?

  1. Thank you, Cheryl, for publishing these books, and thank you, Livia, for two gorgeous covers. Severed Hearts is loosely based on my older brother's story. When someone's words caused him to lose the girl he loved, he enlisted during the Vietnam era.

To Trust Her Heart comes from the heart. It is partially based on my personal story, and partially based on the stories of others.

I do hope you enjoy both. And please, if you do, will you post a reveiw?

    2. Hi Laurean! I loved both of these stories so much. You have a way of just melting my heart with the situations you create--and of course, making me wonder HOW in the world you're going to make it work out of the H/h! But it always does, somehow! So glad to have you with us at PPP!

    3. Awww... Cheryl, you are so sweet to say that. Yes, my characters do get into sticky situations. But they grow as a couple, and in their faith, through the struggles.

  2. I've read both of these books, and loved them. Ms. Brooks is able to write not only a serious and compelling story, but she's sure to sprinkle humor throughout as well, and that's often how life truly is...bits of laughter and sunshine to help us heal from our physical, emotional, and spiritual hurts.

I've reviewed these books, but that was with the former publisher, but both are top FIVE stars reads! :)

  3. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the books, Miss Mae. thank you for your kind words. It's sad that we writers lose our Amazon reviews when a new publisher releases our stories. It's like starting over.

    1. Thank you, Sarah. Yes, "happy endings" to all my stories. The characters must go through some things, but there's enough humor to make the reader laugh or smile throughout.

    2. Just like life the things characters must go through has a way to make the happy ending all that much happier and the bond that much stronger. Great job!

  11. Laurean, I'm a little late in seeing this, as it's been a busy, exciting week. Livia did a great job of the covers...I particularly like the Severed Hearts cover as it brings back memories of the Woolworth's counter where I sometimes grabbed a quick bite and they made the best grilled cheese sandwiches. Your stories sound lovely and when inspired by a personal experience, make them even more real. I look forward to reading them.
